Dr Cullen's consultancy or coaching support begins with an initial meeting between himself and the principal (phone, internet or in-person). If the principal decides David can add value to their school, a plan is then developed, costed and agreed.

Program Evaluations and Reviews
Dr Cullen provides expert coaching and consultancy support for principals and leadership teams, both primary and secondary, in the evaluation and review of educational programs to support school planning and school improvement plans. This, for example, could include the evaluation of school programs in student wellbeing, or teacher professional learning, or literacy/numeracy, or student assessment, or teaching quality, or reporting to parents, or Aboriginal education, or curriculum planning and programming, or community engagement and communication, or student transition etc. It could also include faculty or stage reviews.

Depending on the needs of the school David will either conduct the evaluation/review on behalf of the school, or coach and support a team through the process.

Curriculum and Assessment
Dr Cullen has led curriculum and assessment reform K-12 at a school, region and system level for the last twenty years. He has been responsible for the implementation of the Australian Curriculum K-10 across NSW and has deep knowledge and skills in the development of whole school literacy and numeracy programs K-12.

Recently, as a college principal, David worked closely with his campus principal colleague to successfully review HSC assessment and Stage 6 writing.
​
David is available to support principals and school leadership teams K-12 in, for example, high potential and gifted education, student assessment, reporting to parents, new syllabus implementation, curriculum programming and planning, literacy, numeracy, and understanding student performance data.
Complaints Handling and Management
In his various leadership roles at school, regional and state level, Dr Cullen has successfully managed a vast multitude of student, teacher, parent, and community complaints.
He has a deep knowledge of government policies and practices for dealing with and managing complaints.

David is available to work with the principal and school leaders in the development of a whole school complaints management system and coaching in the handling of complaints.

Additionally, David can coach school leaders through the process of responding to sensitive and complex complaints.
